After a small performance in the O2 Islington three years ago, Conan Gray brought his world tour to London in style, with a stage design that looked simplistic from the get-go but incorporated so much as the show went on. An opening act from MALLRAT warmed the audience in superb fashion.
To start off the show Conan went on the raised platform and treated us to ‘Wish You Were Sober’, which got the audience very hyped straight away. He then climbed down and screamed one his most upbeat songs - ‘Telepath’ - from his new album Superache, and just commanded the audience seamlessly.

We then had one of the first videos used to distract us from the new set scene being loaded in - a bedroom where Conan made us emotional with a run of the slower, tear-jerking songs including a personal favourite: ‘Astronomy’. Something the Gen Z sensation kept saying throughout the show was that he wanted to make it a memorable show, struggling to keep his composure while saying this.
A nickname that Conan has accepted and was chanted by fans was “Conan Gray? More like Conan Slay,” which is exactly what he did for the entire second act of the show. He belted out ‘Overdrive’ for us to all enjoy like the emotional bop it is, an area of music he has perfected his craft in.
Conan took a pause to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to his bass player, and made it silly by including party hats. He later threw a few into the crowd as a souvenir for such a pure moment. He then proceeded to wrap the show in a dazzling fashion, performing ‘Maniac’ with giant lyrics behind him - they don’t need to be read by his Coneheads, though, who sing it perfectly.
To the crowd’s surprise that wasn’t the end of this brilliant show: a new stage set slid into place, revealing a wall of letters and a heartwarming performance of his viral song ‘Heather’, which wrapped up the entire world tour in a neat little bow for us all to remember for years to come. I can only hope to see another spectacular show of his again soon.
